The MayaVita team walking the property
The Team

Leadership

From the Red Sea to the Blue Ridge — the people behind MayaVita.

An Experienced Team

Development, hospitality, and capital markets — a team with extensive experience across every phase of building and operating luxury outdoor resorts.

The Founding Story

Decades in the Making

For founder Ahmed Helmi, the outdoors began in childhood on the remote beaches of the Red Sea. With his wife and co-founder, designer Nermine El Ghamrawy, he spent years exploring coastlines and deserts while the concept behind MayaVita took shape.

Ahmed’s hotel career began in 1996; his first development followed in 1999, when he joined the family business to build the 180-room Noria Hotel on Sinai’s Red Sea coast. In 2015, the vision crossed the Atlantic with his wife and three children. In the years since, he has developed outdoor hospitality projects with national brands across the country and completed a successful exit to an institutional hotel buyer in 2021 — experience that now takes shape as MayaVita Forest Resort & Spa.

“The most valuable real estate a developer can build is a place where memories are made under open skies.”Ahmed Helmi, Founder
